Where Our Attention Goes is What Grows.
Attention = Power. Where we place our focus, our thoughts, and our energy is what will manifest. If we desire something, we need to keep our eye on the prize and imagine it as already in the present.
If we focus on our lack or the negative outcome we don’t want to experience, we will bring in exactly what we feared might happen. Attention = ^%(?#@* not what we want.
Some would call this the “Law of Attraction,” and much has been shared about it.
If our stress patterns are constantly focused on what we are afraid might happen, then we are not staying focused on the steps to actualize the outcome we want to create. This is very tricky if our inner focus keeps playing the pain tape loop of what we most fear.
Some of the strongest enemies that sabotage our physical reality are fear, depression, anger, and stress.
Fear is the unpleasant and often strong feeling caused by expectations or awareness of danger. Fear is a healthy response if it tells us the unknown is present. If we project what we think may happen in the future due to fear, our emotions create a false reality. This is tricky because we deceive ourselves into believing the false expectations are real.
Fear = False-Expectations-Are-Real
SOLUTION: Make the unknown known. Take steps to learn more about it or how to prepare yourself for the engagement. Take baby steps to build on what you can learn about it.
Depression: not in the clinical sense of the term, but more about one of the moods we feel. Your energy becomes stagnant. Energy becomes stagnant. Your body tells you to go inside and be introspective, vs. we shut down, disconnect, and separate from what is going on. This creates a feeling of being sad and unable to respond to life.
SOLUTION: Go inside for introspection and see what your body is trying to tell you.
Anger is the inability to cope with the fear of the unknown. When you are stuck in anger, it swirls in a mental-emotional circle and creates ill health. Unbalanced anger shuts down your senses from seeing, tasting, hearing, feeling, and smelling life experiences around you. You are cut off from life when you are stuck in anger.
If an injustice was done, anger in the positive sense will move you into rage, which leads to taking positive action. (Rage as an emotion is often misunderstood, so we stay in anger to avoid rage.) Rage is a positive response to an injustice when it moves you into action to be part of the solution.
SOLUTION:
- Face your fear of the unknown, which is at the bottom of the anger.
- Learn the difference between rage and anger, and let rage move you into action to take a stand for justice.
Stress induces a state of bodily or mental tension. In nature, there is a natural tension that promotes growth, but humans experience stress that blocks growth. Tension is possible when you master your stress into resilience so you can grow from the edge of your comfort zone. Stress is caused when we lose our focus on what is important, and we fall out of relaxation and focus.
SOLUTION:
- Prioritize your heart’s desires to feel fulfilled and keep your energy tank full.
- Improve your choreography to prioritize your focus on what is important to you and stay relaxed.
These enemies will hijack our attention and disempower us in life. The enemies of fear, depression, anger, and stress can show up as our hard-wired habitual responses that take us out of connection and create distraction and a loss of emotional balance. Over time, they will sabotage our happiness and open the door to health problems.
If you recognize yourself in any of these enemies, you can schedule a coaching session with me to explore how to rewire the patterns that keep you stuck and not moving forward. You can learn more about Attention = Power from my book on Amazon and Audible called “Courage to Shine. How to Feel Confident Outside Your Comfort Zone.”
