The process of restoring health and balanced living is a multipronged approach. The reality is that generally things don’t fall apart over night and a health issue typically manifests over time before it is diagnosed or severe enough to seek treatment. So the process of healing also takes time to restore balance and well being to either unwind the symptoms or manage the severity of symptoms.
There are two key components to this multipronged approach; Professional Care and Self-Care.
Professional Care is needed for health screening, diagnostic tests, medication management and sometimes procedures or surgeries. In the spectrum of healing, the medical community has a lot to offer to understand the dis-ease and how to manage the symptoms. The key is that medical training is often based on symptom management. So Professional Care can inform you of your starting place on this journey and as a bridge to improve your health. For example, you may need medication now to manage symptoms but over time you may reach a point where you require less medication or even become independent of medication.
Self-Care is key to any form of healing. This includes all the other facets of care that you commit to for your own health. This is where you might look into modes of complementary or alternative medicine. You may look into the areas of your life that are creating stress and imbalances that may compound your symptoms. The patterns of Self Care include nutrition, exercise, adequate rest, relationships and meditation to create Mind-Body connection. The physical environment and professional development are other places to focus in order to bring balance into your life.
Woven into this multipronged approach is you and your individuality. Introspection and illumination are key components of your inner work supported through coaching so you can create your Personal Health Plan for change.
