Writing this book was like a Reality TV show, I was writing it as I was living it taking me deeper and deeper into exploration of the shadow behind the veil of my stress. It took me six years to complete this manuscript because I was evolving and healing from my own stress patterns as I was writing the chapters for all of you!  

This book shares my story of how as a Registered Nurse, I wiped out my health from my stress as I pushed myself to be a successful healthcare professional. From a lack of boundaries and patterns of over working and over-giving I faced significant stress related illnesses repeatedly.

Eventually I would step back, focus on my healing, and then move back into the patterns that wiped out my health.

Over time as I kept repeating the cycle of meeting stress by pushing through it and then taking a step back to heal myself, I saw the pattern of personal growth and spiritual awakening that was happening in both myself and my patients. I became more aware of the choices I can make to empower myself to become resilient when stress triggers hit. I was able to master my stress triggers when I dove deeper into my personal and spiritual work to heal my broken heart from a lifetime of pain and shame stories that scarred my self-concepts leading to insecurity and co-dependence.

My illumination was when I saw the true connection of the mind-body-spirit and how we are naturally wired to evolve and grow through our physical health, the vehicle of our work and through our personal relationships. My epiphany was to recognize the bridge between Western Medicine to assess and diagnose and Shamanic Healing of the mind-body-spirit.

For every traumatic or peak life event, there is an opportunity to integrate that experience as a life lesson. We can turn around past trauma or shock points into greater understanding when we glean the wisdom we gained from the experience or catch a glimpse of our shining natural self.

This book shares a spiritual message that stress can be a knock from Spirit to evolve and grow in some way. I apply the new science of stress and how to meet stress as a challenge to grow from rather than the default of flight-or-flight response that sabotages our health and happiness. This book offers teachings, practices, tools and ceremonies from a very ancient ceremonial lineage.
