The Rhododendron Forrest

The Rhododendron Forrest .  The forests in Nepal are so alive especially in the spring when the Rhododendron trees are in bloom. You can see how deeply rooted the trees are into the earth and how they grow strongly to the light. They generate such beauty and power when I walk among them. The plant world has giving energy. The plants give us beauty, sustenance (in the form of food), shade and structure. The plant world gives with beauty and gives so fully. The plants are rooted into Grandmother Earth yet always grow to the light; no matter what. Through the nooks and crannies in nature they keep pushing to find their way to reach for the light. The plant world brings connection from the “so below” to the “as above” merging the two energies. Trees are strong and can withstand strong winds with flexibility. Their leaves move through the death-giving-life cycle with every season as the leaves that died in the fall are regenerated in the spring.

The next time you are crunching on your veggies or enjoying the shade of a tree, tell that sacred plant how grateful you are to be sustained by the plant world and to learn from the plant as you root into the earth to be grounded and reach for the sky as you grow to the light. When life’s challenges appear as the nooks and crannies of the forest, do you still grow to the light the way the plants do? The scared plant world can be your teacher and your healer if you invite it to be so. The plant world is inviting you to connect with them…whether they are on your plate, along your walk or providing cool shade overhead.
